Any Movable Type Hackers Out There?

We’ve been working on an offshoot portion of the platform for the last half day or so. This new tool will work with our blogging engine but we’re really curious about how we might integrate it with Movable Type (at first).

Since neither Duane or I are Perl folks, nor have we ever attempted to write a plugin, I thought it might be worth asking if anyone that’s reading this knows how to write plugins or knows a guy who knows a girl who knows a guy that writes plugins.
