DEMOfall 2006: PixSense
100B videos and photographs captured every day - only 5% make it off of the device itself. They recognized that the method used to move it off were largely messaging techniques (e-mail, sms) but not tools designed for archiving.
With PixSense, you simply take the photo. In the background, the application makes use of the metadata available. They detect when you take photos in bursts and group them automatically.
There are a number of plugins that will move your photos to the leading properties.
The secret sauce is the compression - PixSense Bio-Compression. They are looking to make it more cost efficient for users to archive their data in this manner. The cited problem relates to network data costs primarily.
